1. Yang Sainan, a people's representative of Yancheng City and resident of Qixian Village in Fangqiang Town, Dafeng City: "In recent years, with the help of the Yancheng Municipal Committee of the CPC and the municipal government, we have witnessed the rapid development of Dafeng Port. As a representative of Yancheng City, I believe that the development of Dafeng Port will significantly impact the development of Dafeng and even Yancheng. Dafeng Port will become a new growth point for Yancheng's development. Therefore, I, along with ten other representatives, jointly proposed this motion, hoping that the Yancheng Municipal Committee of the CPC and the municipal government will further pay attention to and support the construction of Dafeng Port."

Tao Ying, the second secretary of the Party Leadership Group and deputy director of Dafeng Port Authority: "The Yancheng Municipal Committee of the CPC and the municipal government attach great importance to and support the motions proposed by the people's representatives regarding accelerating the construction of Dafeng Port. It can be said that 2007 was the fastest developing and most fruitful year since the opening of Dafeng Port: First, the cargo throughput at the wharf has been increasing continuously. The total annual cargo throughput reached 752,000 tons, with 1,940 containers and over 210 ship calls, an increase of 41.3% compared to the same period last year, achieving full production and efficiency one year ahead of schedule. Second, the first-class port was opened as scheduled. An international container liner route between Dafeng Port and Incheon Port in South Korea was launched. Third, the waterworks part of the second phase project, including one 50,000-ton bulk cargo berth (capable of accommodating 70,000-ton vessels) and two 20,000-ton general cargo berths (capable of accommodating 40,000-ton vessels), has already started construction."

Geng Zhongxia, a people's representative of Yancheng City and employee of Chuandong Gate Management Office in Dafeng City: "In recent years, under the care and support of the Yancheng Municipal Committee of the CPC and the municipal government, our Dafeng Port construction has developed rapidly. The leaders at all levels of Yancheng have provided strong support for Dafeng Port. As a Yancheng representative from Dafeng, I feel very happy and proud of the achievements made by Dafeng Port. We hope that the Yancheng Municipal Committee of the CPC and the municipal government will further increase their support for the construction of Dafeng Port, making Dafeng Port an early new growth point for the economic and social development of Yancheng City."
