According to his own confession, on August 14th at the parking lot of Yuan Shanbei Company in Changping, team leader Li handed him a termination of employment contract notice, informing him that he had been dismissed. Feeling aggrieved, he decided to retaliate. At around 3 a.m. on August 16th, he sneaked into the repair shop of the parking lot and turned on the nozzle of a fuel dispenser. After the nozzle started dispensing fuel, he lit a small piece of black cloth and threw it towards the fuel. Then, he walked to a blue Volvo bus and drove off from the scene.
Rescuers who rushed to the scene stated that Cai Jianjun's fire reached the oil depot; fortunately, the oil depot was small with limited fuel, otherwise the consequences would have been catastrophic. Yesterday, we learned from relevant departments in Dongguan that the arson and car theft case suspected to have occurred on the morning of August 16th has now entered the judicial process.
However, despite the circumstances, he survived. When he woke up, he was already in an ambulance heading to the hospital.
Where did Cai Jianjun drive the bus after leaving the company's parking lot? Relevant personnel informed that upon interrogation, Cai Jianjun admitted that he didn't steal the bus to sell it but intended to use it to end his life because he knew "he had caused a major disaster."
In Cai Jianjun's view, the company had no valid reason to dismiss him; he believed he worked hard. However, a related person in charge of the company claimed that in March, he was severely warned for gambling within the fleet; in June, he harassed a female ticket officer, affecting work, which led to the decision to dismiss him.
It is introduced that every bus in the company was equipped with a GPS positioning system. The GPS company provided the location of the bus, and the police tracked it. About an hour later, they finally found the bus overturned in a ditch beside the highway on the Huangjiang section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway. Cai Jianjun was injured lying next to the bus.
Cai Jianjun, aged 29, was a bus driver for a passenger transport company. Dissatisfied with being dismissed by the company, he first opened the fuel nozzle in the repair shop and set it on fire. Subsequently, he drove one of the company's buses out recklessly, driving aimlessly onto the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway before crashing off the highway with the intention to "just crash and die."
After treatment, Cai Jianjun quickly confessed to the police regarding his retaliatory actions against the company, including arson and stealing the bus.
From the relevant materials, we learned that Cai Jianjun was from Shaoguan, 29 years old. He started working as a bus driver for Zhongnan Passenger Transport Company in Shenzhen in February 2006 and then became a bus driver for Shenzhen Aote Car Rental Company in June 2008 until August 14, 2009.
The bus was discovered severely damaged in a ditch under the highway. Cai Jianjun was unconscious when the bus crashed. When he regained consciousness, he was still in the driver's seat, so he climbed out and fainted again outside. An hour later, when he woke up again, he was already in an ambulance heading to the hospital.
Relevant staff involved in the rescue operation said, "He really has great luck to survive this!" On the day of the incident, the bus was found below the highway with significant damage to its front.
The incident occurred in the early hours of August 16th, and it has been three months since then. Yesterday, we learned from relevant departments in Dongguan that currently, the bus driver Cai Jianjun suspected of arson and car theft is undergoing legal procedures for punishment.
Three months ago, the incident involving arson and car theft by the driver has now entered the judicial process.
Wanting to die, he drove off the highway.
At 3 a.m., Cai Jianjun set the fire; at 4 a.m., the company's responsible person arrived at the scene. After introducing the situation to the police, the car company and the police immediately began tracking Cai Jianjun.
The bus flipped into the ditch, injuring the driver.
