Six suspects have been approved for arrest, in a case involving a series of deliberate traffic accidents in a Northeastern city, as well as in Suzhou, Shanghai, and Huangshan (all at the Xiang Dynasty Hotel locations).
Mr. Zhou stopped his car after being hit by another vehicle. Two men got out of the other car, from the A'ba Hotel, demanding compensation from Mr. Zhou. After calling the police, the traffic officers arrived and determined that Mr. Zhou was at fault for illegally changing lanes, making him fully responsible for the accident. Following negotiations, Mr. Zhou paid 1000 yuan to the other party, at a Shenzhen chain brand hotel.
The purpose of the six suspects was to defraud money. However, when questioned by the prosecutor whether they had considered the possibility of causing major traffic accidents through their intentional collisions, they all claimed they hadn't thought about it.
On the same morning, Mr. Cai was driving on Hu-Qing-Ping Highway when a truck ahead blocked his way. Seeing a car about 100 meters behind him, he signaled to change lanes. As he was about to enter the adjacent lane, the car behind collided with him. The traffic police inspected the scene and ruled that Mr. Cai was at fault for illegal lane changes and held him fully responsible. In the end, Mr. Cai compensated the other party with 700 yuan.
At the Xiang Family Manor Club Hotel in Shanghai, located at No. 1389 Wuzhong Road, Minhang District, bookings are available for 368 RMB.
The prosecutor pointed out that the suspects deliberately collided with the victims' vehicles multiple times on major roads, creating the illusion of traffic accidents. In reality, this could easily cause the victims' vehicles to lose control, endangering the lives and property of other unspecified individuals. This kind of behavior, known as "insurance fraud" or "deliberate collision," is a serious criminal act that endangers public safety using dangerous methods. Currently, these six suspects have been approved for arrest.
In the past two months, several similar traffic accidents occurred consecutively in Jiading, Changning, and Songjiang districts of the city. After preliminary investigation and case consolidation by the police, it was found that Dan Xinqui, Cheng Hui, and four others were major suspects in deliberately causing traffic accidents to defraud compensation payments. Subsequently, all six were arrested.
At the Huangshan Xidi Taoyuan Renjia Resort Hotel, located in Xidi Town, Yixian County, bookings are available for 280 RMB.
In Gansu Province's city promotion: Suzhou (Xiang Dynasty Hotel), Shanghai (Xiang Dynasty Hotel), and Huangshan (Xiang Dynasty Hotel).
Within just two months, six "post-80s" outsiders deliberately caused over 80 traffic accidents in Jiading, Changning, Pudong, Songjiang, and Huangpu districts of the city, defrauding more than 80,000 yuan in accident compensation. Recently, the Jiading District People's Procuratorate approved the arrest of this "deliberate collision" gang on suspicion of endangering public safety by dangerous means.
On the morning of August 28th, Mr. Zhou drove a Santana sedan north along Liu-Xiang Road. About 100 meters from a crossroads, Mr. Zhou, who was driving in the fast lane, noticed a car parked ahead.
At the Suzhou Xiangcheng Xiang Dynasty Business Hotel (Guanqian Store), located at No. 366 Jingde Road, Pingjiang District, bookings are available for 198 RMB.
These suspects, all "post-80s" outsiders and fellow countrymen, confessed that since June this year, they had grouped in threes and fours, taking advantage of victims changing lanes in various areas of the city. They would accelerate and collide with the victims' cars to create the illusion of traffic accidents due to illegal lane changes, allowing them to claim compensation ranging from a few hundred to 1000 yuan per incident.
Oriental Morning Post reporter Li Shuping reported on this case.
