This morning, the webmaster read two pieces of news on CB. First, China Yahoo quietly launched "Chinese Internet 2007". Second, Ali Software entered the wireless instant messaging field. These two pieces of news caught my attention because Jack Ma started hyping again.
Let's talk about the first one. The "3721 Network Real Name" of Yahoo China is the pioneer of rogue software. Now it has "quietly" transformed into "Chinese Internet 2007". The webmaster disagrees with the saying "once a rogue, always a rogue". No matter how arrogant Jack Ma is, he will not follow the old path of Yahoo Assistant and create a plugin that "downloads automatically and cannot be uninstalled". That would only benefit Zhou Hongyi and his Qihoo 360 Security Guard who suddenly became anti-rogue advocates. But the question is whether our browser really needs that thing? Look at these various plugins and toolbars. Their functions are more or less the same, just integrating some functions and services of their own websites. Whether it's Chinese Internet or Network Real Name, they are only useful for newbies who are unfamiliar with the Internet.
The second piece of news is nothing new. Jack Ma's hired guns have been loudly promoting that "Aliwangwang" has entered the top three of online chat tools and wants to compete with QQ in terms of wealth. Then Ali Software announced that "Wangwang" would enter the wireless IM market. Any sensible person can see through this at a glance. Isn't this nonsense? Even if all Internet users stopped using QQ, it wouldn't be Wangwang's turn. I haven't seen anyone chatting with Wangwang without buying or selling things. As for the wireless IM market, QQ and MSN hold a monopolistic position. Add Feixin to the mix, and it won't be easy for Jack Ma to get a share.
In fact, making a big fuss is Jack Ma's consistent way of hyping. Everyone is already used to it. The webmaster believes that Jack Ma's best two products are Taobao and Alipay. B2B, B2C, C2C are Jack Ma's strengths. Doing portal sites and software is really not Jack Ma's forte. It's better to say that Yahoo China was ruined by Jack Ma's "Yahoo Assistant" than by Zhou Hongyi's "3721". Look at the current completely changed Yahoo China. What else can you do except stay away?
