Baidu responds to IM rumors for the first time, does not rule out development

Baidu executives made their first response to the rumor about the development of IM. The three executives in charge of commercial operations and product architecture did not make a clear denial of the rumors, and even said that they were paying attention to it and did not rule out the possibility of researching and developing IM products.

Recently, there have been rumors that Baidu will launch an instant messaging tool named "Xiaosheng". Some netizens said that the software is only 4M in size, but all functions are complete.

Shen Haoyu, Vice President of Baidu's commercial operations, said: "Baidu definitely pays attention to the hot products on the market, but whether we can combine our own characteristics to provide special product experience, we are actually always trying. Now there is definitely no specific product or some specific progress to share with everyone."

"Wang Zhansheng, Baidu's chief financial officer, responded: "Regarding the rumors about Baidu products, it's very simple. Baidu has always not commented on rumors."

Yu Jun, Vice President of Baidu Products, believed that IM is a relatively valuable field. "I also saw the rumors online. Generally speaking, Baidu makes products when everything is ready, and what we do is what users need. But before the official launch, we won't say whether we want to do it or not."
