Recently, some lawbreakers impersonated an interactive website for college students, lied about holding a lottery event, and deceived people into paying the "cost of claiming prize" under false pretenses. Fortunately, their scheme was uncovered by students.
"Gee, I almost got defrauded of 850 yuan," said Little Meng, a second-year student at Shanghai Jiaotong University. Some time ago, he received an email. At first glance, it came from an interactive website for college students where he and his classmates had registered accounts and frequently logged in. The email stated that the website was holding a lottery event, and students could log into the URL left in the email, draw a number, and have the chance to win a prize worth tens of thousands of yuan. Little Meng told this reporter that because everyone often used this website, which was relatively credible among students, he initially had no doubts. Moreover, upon entering via the URL given in the email, the web page looked exactly like the real website.
