According to the analysis of industry experts in light of the current situation, although the Ministry of Information Industry has already made plans for interoperability and is implementing them, the differences in internet speed between the northern and southern networks, as well as the issues of China Netcom and China Telecom being isolated from each other and dividing territories, will still exist for a fairly long period of time.

After the split of China Telecom into northern and southern divisions, the backbone network of China's Internet was divided into two parts: Netcom in the north and Telecom in the south. Telecom’s main base is in the south, while Netcom is based in the north. The resulting "interconnection without interoperability" has long been a troubling issue for many corporate websites and internet users.
