Dell's chief technology officer, Kevin Kettler, revealed that by using virtual machine technology, users will be able to run multiple virtual computers, generated by software and using different operating systems, on one computer simultaneously, increasing flexibility and security.
For example, a virtual machine running Windows Vista can be used for daily computing tasks, while another virtual machine is only used for browsing the internet in order to reduce security threats to the computer. A third virtual machine could have Linux installed, and a fourth could have Windows XP installed, each used for running software compatible with different systems.
