If you know how to search on Rapidshare, it can be a goldmine. There are two basic ways to conduct searches: one is using Google search parameters to search within Rapidshare; some websites provide a basic search interface but it's not as effective as adding your own parameters for the search. Another type of website provides its own search database for searching.
The second type of website offers broader searches because they use different sources to discover new files on Rapidshare, including user uploads. I don't like using the first type of website to search Rapidshare because I can input my own search parameters into a search engine like Google, which yields better results.
When comparing search engines for Rapidshare, I searched for "Video", "avi", and "windows". Discovering files is one thing, but finding files that are still saved in the database is another.
I analyzed three results for each search, selecting the first, fifth, and tenth results to click through and see if the links were still active.
A basic search engine website with no other options besides the search bar.
Video: Over 5000 results, but no exact number was given. All three tested results were downloadable.
Avi: This search also yielded over 5000 results, all of which were normal.
Windows: 2096 search results, and the tested ones were also downloadable.
Rapidlibrary not only provides a Rapidshare search but also tags. It displays tags for all 200 recently searched files, allowing you to discover files using an additional method.
Video: 5576 results, and all three tested results were downloadable.
Avi: Found 70735 results, all of which were also downloadable.
Windows: 2520 results, with the fifth result unable to download.
It offers both web and database searches, along with extra features to enhance the service. For example, there’s a Rapidshare link checker and email updates provided for keywords.
Video: 1471 results in its database, with all three tested results being downloadable.
Avi: No results found.
Windows: 2100 results, with tests downloading normally.
A basic search engine, but sometimes slower. You can limit the size of the search file, and users can report broken links.
Video: Found over 500 results, all tests normal.
Avi: More than 500 results, all tests normal.
Windows: Over 500 results, all tests normal.
It doesn't display search results, only search labels and file sizes are shown. Broken links are displayed, for unknown reasons? Very fast.
Video: Does not list search results, tests normal.
Avi: Does not list search results, tests normal.
Windows: Does not list search results, tests normal.
