Yahoo pushes implied search service to reduce user search time

Recently, Yahoo launched the implied search function, which automatically prompts users with search results based on their input. Yahoo stated that the purpose of introducing this search function is to limit the number of searches a user has to conduct. By providing search suggestions, users can save time and quickly find what they are looking for.

This feature is not new; previously, it was available in the Yahoo Firefox toolbar, but this is the first time the main Yahoo website has incorporated this functionality. Currently, this function has not been rolled out to Yahoo sites in other languages.

In October 2005, Yahoo launched a similar product called "Instant Search," but it never appeared on the Yahoo homepage. Google also offers a similar service called Google Suggest.
