Sina has recently (apparently on the 26th) launched its long-awaited new social network - Zhongle.com. The site is already in beta testing (registration requires an invitation, see end of article). Meanwhile, Sina's original SNS "Sina Friends" is now basically defunct, having lasted less than five months.
In terms of social networking, domestic news portals have all made significant moves this year. Aside from Tencent's continued large-scale efforts in social networking (in terms of user numbers and stickiness, without considering user quality, other portals cannot compare), not long after Sohu launched "White Society" (in May), Sina quietly launched "Sina Friends" (also in May, exact time ignored), but it seems neither had ideal results. Just as domestic Twitter-like services were all undergoing maintenance, Sina boldly launched "Sina Weibo" (in August, though not an SNS, Microblogging is also an essential element of social networks), giving good men and women who were feeling stifled a chance to breathe. In September, Sina's SNS "Zhongle.com" began internal testing; in October, NetEase's "Dream Life" was also placed on the internal testing schedule...
