Starting from August 10, Beijing Gehua Broadband (www.gohoo.bj.cn) has reduced its broadband internet fees, with the lowest monthly fee for 1M being only 83 yuan and the lowest monthly fee for 2M being only 100 yuan. This is undoubtedly like adding fuel to the fire for the fiercely competitive broadband market in Beijing.
Yesterday, our reporter confirmed this by calling the broadband company under Gehua Cable at 010-51282928. It is claimed that the transformation of Gehua's TV network has been largely completed. The renovated network covers most of the eight urban districts of Beijing, and the current maximum internet speed can reach up to 4M.
For this reason, Gehua has prepared two pricing plans for 1M and 2M: 1M costs 100 yuan per month, 600 yuan for half a year with an additional month of free internet fees, or 1000 yuan annually. 2M costs 135 yuan per month, 800 yuan for half a year, or 1200 yuan annually. If calculated based on the annual subscription for the second tier, it is equivalent to a monthly internet fee of only 83 yuan for 1M and only 100 yuan for 2M. In comparison to China Unicom's ADSL 2M which costs 1680 yuan per month, this "radical" reduction in internet fees by Gehua Broadband is the first of its kind in Beijing. Moreover, it has broken through the so-called "critical point" in the industry where 1M costs 100 yuan.
