It was reported that China Mobile’s Feixin product would end its trial commercial use and be officially launched today. Unlike previous speculations, China Mobile’s Feixin service will be completely free of charge. Previously, at the 2007 annual meeting of China Mobile Data Department, Gao Nianshu, director of China Mobile Data Department, emphasized that this year China Mobile would “focus on developing Feixin”. According to the goals set by Gao Nianshu, from January to June this year, Feixin users must reach over 10 million, with over 3.5 million active customers per month, and the proportion of active mobile client customers must account for more than 10% of the overall total. In the second half of the year, the number of Feixin users should exceed 25 million, with over 4.5 million active users per month.

Just as China Mobile's instant messaging tool "Feixin" is about to end its public testing, Tencent recently announced that the company has reached a cooperation agreement with China Mobile. Within the next six months, mobile Feixin will achieve interconnection with Tencent QQ, and mobile Feixin will be renamed "Feixin QQ".

According to the agreement, Tencent QQ and China Mobile's Feixin will achieve interconnection within the next six months, and Tencent's mobile QQ business will gradually transition to the Feixin platform.
