From gigantic to coin-sized! The evolution of hard drives

Hard disks have a history of over 50 years. Over the decades, the size of hard disks has become smaller and smaller while their capacity has been increasing continuously. Hard disk speed and interfaces are also keeping up with the times. The first hard disk was two refrigerators wide, with 50 discs with a diameter of two feet installed inside, and weighed about one ton. Nowadays, micro-hard drives and CF hard drives are merely coin-sized. This change is really astonishing.
