The London Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games officially released the emblem for the 2012 London Olympics in London on the 4th, which has been approved by the International Olympic Committee.

The emblem is composed of geometric shapes representing the four Arabic numerals of 2012. The geometric shape in the upper left corner, representing the number 2, is marked with the word "London", while the geometric shape in the upper right corner, representing the number 0, is marked with the "Olympic Rings" logo.

According to Sebastian Coe, the chairman of the London Organizing Committee, this emblem symbolizes "energy, modernity, and flexibility, reflecting a new and colorful world where people, especially young people, are no longer static but work with the aid of new technologies and new media networks."

At first glance, the geometric shape representing the number 2 particularly resembles the shape of a young person's hand holding a mobile phone, giving it a very dynamic feel. The new emblem comes in four colors: pink, blue, green, and orange, and will replace the emblem that was released in November 2003 when London was a bidding city.
