Yesterday (July 27) was an embarrassing day for Rising, China's top security software vendor. The official website of the veteran antivirus software company was hacked and "planted with a Trojan horse". The web page with the "Trojan horse" just happened to be the homepage of Rising KK, which is specifically used to detect and remove Trojan horses. According to the malicious URL monitoring data from the 360 Security Center, Rising's official website had already been hacked and "planted with a Trojan horse" on July 26. After browsing some of Rising's pages, users without protection will automatically download and run a variant of the "Machine Dog" Trojan horse, which can disable antivirus software and put online game and online banking accounts at great risk of theft.
