The World Aquarium in St. Louis, the United States, announced Tuesday that it is auctioning a rare white rat-eating two-headed snake on ebay with a starting price of $150,000. The six-year-old two-headed snake is white with only two heads slightly red. In 1999, the "World Aquarium" was acquired from its former owner for 1. $50,000 for a newborn snake. Normally, two-headed snakes don't live more than a few months. But not only did the two-headed snake survive, it "thrived." Now, its body is 1. 2 meters, roughly 2. Five centimeters. That's a healthy size for a rat snake.
"Unlike other two-headed animals, its two mouths are connected by the same stomach," Sonnenschein said, explaining how it survived.
