Is it a bug or a conspiracy?

Maybe many people have already known this! Create a new text file on the desktop, then type the two characters "联通", save it, close it, and then open it again, and it will turn into "ͨ" (this happens in both Windows 2000 and XP). Is Microsoft dissing Unicom?
