The movie "Spider-Man 3" has been released recently, and an Italian researcher stated today that the research project he is currently conducting could potentially turn the fictional character Spider-Man into a real person.
Perno, a 35-year-old researcher from the Polytechnic University of Turin, revealed that he has been studying a type of adhesive form for ten years, which might be developed into a suit similar to Spider-Man's.
Like other researchers, he also uses geckos and lizards in his studies.
He considers this an interesting field of applied science, for instance, it could be used in space to create suits with suction adhesion systems for astronauts. However, he estimates that such suits might take another ten years to develop.
