Sony's new video-sharing site, the Japanese version of EyeVio, officially opened today, its purpose being obvious: to rival Google's YouTube. Since Google has agreed to display a 'do not upload copyright-protected videos' notice on its Japanese webpage and has already removed over 30,000 Japanese media videos, Sony has chosen to establish its EyeVio base first in Japan. Of course, it is only a matter of time before EyeVio goes global.
