Baidu search function evolution: automatic classification of news content

Baidu's news search service launched a new function this afternoon which can automatically classify the results of searches to make it easier for users to find related news information.

It is understood that this service function is called "Baidu News Special Topic". As long as you search for relevant keywords on Baidu News, at the top of the search results page, there will be a link to the Baidu News Special Topic composed of that keyword.

Relevant analysts suggest that this should be a keyword-driven news special topic service that gathers related keywords. For example, if you search for "Baidu", it will list out hot keywords related to Baidu and the news under those keywords. These keywords change daily according to the news, and the news pages are automatically generated by machine analysis.

Baidu's "News Special Topic" seems very similar to Microsoft's "Intelligent Search". Currently, Baidu has only launched this feature on its news search. Other channels such as knowledge and images do not have this feature.
