The Secretary of Suzhou Municipal Committee in 1999 was also the Deputy Director and Party Group Deputy Secretary of Jiangsu Province Agriculture and Forestry Department. In 2000, he became the Director and Party Group Secretary of Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, Provincial Party Education Work, Wang Rong who will take over as mayor of Shenzhen following the dismissal of Xu Zongheng. Recently, the central government has approved the original Secretary of Suzhou Municipal Committee Wang Rong to replace Xu Zongheng, and take office as the Deputy Secretary of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee and acting mayor.
