In the Taiyuan period of the Jin Dynasty, a man from Wuling made his living by fishing. One day, he was following a stream and lost track of how far he had traveled. Suddenly, he encountered a peach blossom forest that extended for hundreds of steps on both sides of the stream. There were no other kinds of trees in it, the fragrant grass was fresh and beautiful, and the falling petals fluttered about in great profusion. The fisherman found this very strange. He continued forward, wanting to reach the end of the forest.
