Migrant worker Mr. Liu reported that some companies explicitly stated during recruitment: "As long as you're not from XX (province), you're fine."

Migrant worker Mr. Liu contacted our newspaper's news hotline 88868886, reporting that due to being from a certain province, several companies in Wenzhou turned him away. Some companies even explicitly stated in their recruitment terms that job seekers from that province were not welcome.

Mr. Liu mentioned that not long ago he received professional training at the Shoe Capital Training Center and was looking for a relevant job in Wenzhou. On the afternoon of June 4th, he saw some recruitment advertisements from shoe companies in the newspaper and decided to call a few of the listed numbers.

The first number Mr. Liu reached was a recruitment line for a shoe company. When Mr. Liu asked about the requirements for applicants, the recruiter replied: "As long as you're not from XX (province), you're fine," and added that this was a rule set by the leadership.

Mr. Liu then called another shoe company’s recruitment line. After receiving a positive response regarding an interview, Mr. Liu hurried to the Shuangyu Industrial Zone. At the entrance of the company, a security guard requested Mr. Liu's ID card. After checking it, the guard told Mr. Liu: "We don't want people from XX province, so you don't need to go inside." During subsequent job applications, Mr. Liu was turned away by multiple companies for the same reason. On his way home, Mr. Liu noticed that many companies had directly written "No applicants from XX province" on their recruitment notices posted at their entrances.
