Alibaba was originally not a competitor of Baidu, and it was even once considered a good guy in everyone's eyes. Alibaba, doing B2B, was on a road that no one favored, so it didn't conflict with anyone. However, Taobao made it a rival of eBay; Alipay made it a rival of all payment companies. In 2003, Robin Li was also one of Jack Ma's guests.
