Google's Cloud Computing Weapon: App Engine

Google is not entering the cloud space by offering raw computing power to outsiders, but instead with a variety of application services like e-mail and a software development platform. Depending on what customers need, Google has two options: either it provides a simpler cloud experience or enforces stricter controls. But no matter which solution is chosen, Google wants to persuade developers and business users to use its App Engine platform in order to promote its various services in the business user market.
