US Press Goes Online to "Beg" While National Press Serves as a "Beacon"

"Help...Help..." the cries are widespread, this is precisely the heartfelt shout of the American press in recent times. We, not being in the midst of it, naturally find it hard to grasp the enormity of the disaster and the grandeur of the scene.

Last year, information about the decline of the American press had already been overwhelming. A series of arguments that were once seen as curses and predictions of doom have now become undeniable facts this year. The Baltimore Examiner, Rocky Mountain News, and San Francisco Chronicle are barely hanging on, while the Seattle P-I has even ceased printing in March this year.
