Mind-controlled typewriter? It's no longer a joke. In this week's CeBIT fair, a device for interaction between the brain and a computer will be displayed. It can help people control the movement of the mouse on the screen through 128 electrodes attached to the scalp. This is a masterpiece by the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Architecture and Software Technology in Berlin. The technology is not yet mature. At present, it takes people 5 to 10 minutes to write a sentence with it, and it is also difficult to attach the 128 electrodes - it takes about an hour to complete this task. Scientists are trying to improve these shortcomings, such as replacing these electrodes with a wireless headset (Contactless Cap). This technology can provide considerable assistance to disabled individuals.
