[Basic Introduction]
Tang poetry is the gem of Chinese classical literature. In terms of genre completeness, skill proficiency, style strength, and realm loftiness, Tang poetry has reached perfection and brilliance, and can be regarded as the culmination of traditional Chinese poetry. The "Three Hundred Poems of the Tang Dynasty" anthology can be considered the essence among Tang poems.
The "Three Hundred Poems of the Tang Dynasty" was compiled by Hengtang Tuishi (Sun Zhu, 1711-1778) and published in the 29th year of the Qing Qianlong era (1765). The selection standard was “to choose only the most popular works from Tang poetry and select the most important ones.” It includes 313 representative Tang poems, covering genres such as ancient-style poems, yuefu, quatrains, and regulated verse. This book, as one of the best anthologies of Tang poetry, is well-known to every household and widely spread, serving as a successful children's educational material in ancient times.
