Thought to find a job, but turned out to be a scam. Yesterday, Xiao Shen from Hubei called the news hotline 88868886, telling his experience of encountering a "recruit seamen" scam. Currently, the police have filed an investigation, and it is estimated that dozens of people have encountered the same scam. Xiao Shen has been in Wenzhou for not long and hasn't found a suitable job. On the 16th of this month, he saw a "recruit seamen" advertisement around Shuangyu area and went to apply at the "Tengda Company" in Oubei Town, Yongjia County with a fellow townsman. The company claimed to be a branch of a Taizhou shipping company in Wenzhou, responsible for recruiting staff for the headquarters in Wenzhou. After a simple "interview", Xiao Shen and his fellow townsman were quickly hired. However, the person in charge of recruitment at "Tengda Company" required each of them to pay 800 yuan, claiming it was needed to handle relevant documents and also for training. Xiao Shen and his fellow townsman thought they were really hired, so they paid the fee, and at the time, a person who claimed to be a "manager" surnamed Li issued them a receipt. On that day, "Manager Li" also promised: before February 21st, they would arrange for them to attend seaman training at the Taizhou headquarters. However, by February 21st, neither Xiao Shen nor his fellow townsman had received any notification from "Tengda Company". When they called the company's phone number to inquire, no one answered. That day, when they rushed to the company's office location, they found it had already become "deserted".
