The recent emergency landing of a US passenger plane on the Hudson River in New York once again drew global attention to the issue of bird strikes. In order to ensure flight safety, last year the Italian Civil Aviation Authority allowed manufacturers to try out the "Peregrine Falcon" robot to drive away crows and other birds at Rome Leonardo Da Vinci International Airport (also known as "Rome Fiumicino International Airport"), and the results were quite good.
