Father of Websphere leaves IBM to join Microsoft

It's really a crazy piece of news. Although Microsoft (MS) has previously acquired many top-level technical personnel from various companies, most of them came from relatively smaller firms or companies in poor condition, which made it difficult for those people to achieve their ideals and ambitions, leading them to join Microsoft. None of these situations apply to IBM. However, MS still managed to get Don, and it is believed that this will have a positive impact on enterprise-level software solutions. Another issue is that what enterprise customers are concerned about is not just the capability of Windows Enterprise Services in terms of software, but more likely the reliability of the hardware. When customers choose IBM or HP servers, no matter how perfect Microsoft's software solutions may be, they lose the foundation. This could possibly be an insurmountable ceiling for MS.
