According to the British media on August 18, Israeli scientists said that they have found a way to generate electricity for streets and highways by means of automobile movement. They will open up the world's first electricity-generating highway in January 2009. When automobiles drive one mile (1.6 kilometers) on the highway, it can generate over 640 kilowatts of electricity, which is enough to provide power supply for 12 compact cars.
