The new national standard stipulates for the first time that the protein content in instant noodles must not be less than 8%. On the 15th, it was learned that the new standard was drafted by the National Grain Bureau's Scientific Research Institute and has passed the review of the National Standardization Technical Committee for Cereals and Oils. Zhan Tao, a relevant person in charge of White Elephant Group, said that compared with the old standard, the new national standard has become stricter. For example, in terms of fat indicators, the standard stipulates that the upper limit of fat for fried instant noodles and dry-eating noodles is 22% and 25%, respectively, while the original fat indicator for fried instant noodles was 24%. In the old standard, there were no regulations on the protein content of instant noodles, but the new standard clearly stipulates for the first time that the protein content must not be less than 8%. Currently, some foreign standards have already taken the protein content of instant noodles as an important quality indicator.
