"Secret Weapon" of Win2K: Browser Status Diagnostic Tool (Browstat.exe)

BrowStat is a character-based diagnostic tool for analyzing the browser, and therefore does not have a version designed for use under a GUI interface. This tool can be used to determine whether the browser service is running, and in Windows 2000 and Windows NT domains, it can detect the status of browsers within Windows workgroups. It also provides information about the status of the browser in a specific workgroup, including details such as the name of the browser.

You can also use this tool to discover the transport command (or "transporter") being used on a computer by running either `Browstat Dumpnet` or `Browstat DN`, and then checking the results. The term "transport" here refers to the transport specified by the driver in Windows 2000 or Windows NT.
