In Guangdong Province, the import volume of alumina from January to October decreased by 44.3% compared with the same period last year.

According to the customs statistics, in Jan-Oct 2008, Guangdong Province imported 77,000 tons of aluminium oxide with the import value of USD 44.32 million, decreased by 44.3% and 5.4% respectively over the year 2007. The average import price was USD 575.9/ton.
