As of September 1, 2008, Li Yanhong had a wealth of 13 billion yuan, ranking first; Ma Huateng of Tencent ranked second with a wealth of 12.5 billion yuan; Ding Lei of NetEase ranked third with a wealth of 9.8 billion yuan. However, due to stock market fluctuations, based on the stock price on November 24, Li Yanhong's wealth shrank to 4.5 billion yuan, while Ma Huateng replaced Li Yanhong as the first with a wealth of 8.3 billion yuan. There were 7 billionaires involved in software, an increase from 4 last year; there were 5 billionaires involved in mobile phones and their components, an increase from 3 last year; there were fewer billionaires involved in communication technology and computer information technology than last year, with 4 and 1 respectively.
