The phrase "xxx was chased by xxx, that dog, to the point of not having time to urinate" is something I learned from Teacher Xu while watching "Three Voices Clashing" in the past. It couldn't be more fitting to describe the current situation between Yahoo and Google.
Not long ago, both Google and Yahoo released specially optimized versions of the IE 7.0 browser. Observant friends would have noticed that the download interfaces for both are strikingly similar. Is this because Microsoft has stipulated a format for the special edition IE download interface? That's unlikely. Matt Cutts believes this is yet another example of Yahoo copying Google (he also cited two instances where Yahoo mimicked Google's ad templates).
It’s not that o doesn’t understand; it’s just that the world changes fast! If Yahoo was the dominant force in the internet world of the last century, then now it has willingly handed over that position to Google. But surely Yahoo hasn’t fallen so far as to need to copy Google’s ad templates?
I almost forgot: it seems Google has already become aware of this issue and updated their IE 7.0 promotional webpage. Hopefully, Yahoo won’t foolishly modify their own IE 7.0 promotional webpage to make it identical to Google’s (as of now, Yahoo hasn’t made any moves. If you notice that Yahoo’s IE 7.0 promotional webpage becomes the same as Google's again, please do let me know immediately).
