According to survey, the development speed of small home appliances such as humidifiers and dehumidifiers is much higher than that of large home appliances which have already entered a mature stage. The profit margin for large home appliances in the domestic market currently stands at around 5%~10%, and can even be lower; the small home appliance industry has a market share potential of over 350 billion yuan, with environment appliances being the dark horse within the small home appliance industry. Take humidifiers for example, last year the sales volume of the humidifier industry was approximately 3 million units, with a growth rate as high as 60%.
The indoor humidity should be maintained between 40% to 60% throughout the year, and the concentration of suspended dust should be less than 0.15 mg/square meter. Prior to the Olympics, Beijing's air quality had been widely questioned, with some foreign sports teams even claiming they would wear masks to participate in the Beijing Olympics.
After the conclusion of the Olympics, how ordinary families can sustain high-quality air quality environments and make it a regular part of life, benefiting households across the country, presents us with a new challenge. Deputy Secretary General Chen Gang of the China Home Appliance Association stated that environment appliances will become the star products of the home appliance industry in the post-Olympic era.
