How to improve the level of food packaging machinery enterprises in our country

The current product level of China's food packaging machinery manufacturing industry is pyramid-shaped. At the bottom are a large number of low-level repetitive production products, while there are relatively few high-end products. Data shows that there are nearly 6,000 food and packaging machinery production enterprises nationwide. Among them, more than 2,000 are unstable, with nearly 15% of companies changing production or going bankrupt each year. Only a dozen enterprises have an annual output value and sales exceeding 100 million yuan, and only 50 enterprises have annual sales exceeding 30 million yuan. 75% of the exports in the industry are produced by these 50 enterprises. Industry insiders believe that a reshuffle in the industry is inevitable, and small enterprises will be gradually eliminated and merged in the competition. There are many reasons for this situation, mainly including the following four aspects: UnionPay Analysis.

Regarding the above risks, UnionPay offers the following suggestions to the industry:

1. Promote overall coordinated development in combination with regional layout characteristics

In order to study a food and packaging machinery development strategy suitable for national conditions, it is necessary to research the regional differences affecting the quantity and variety of food machinery development and formulate a food machinery zoning plan. In terms of quantity, except for sugar, other foods in North China and the lower reaches of the Yangtze River can be exported; however, South China is the opposite, as apart from sugar that can be exported, other foods need to be imported along with refrigeration equipment. Pastoral areas require machinery for slaughtering, transportation, refrigeration, and shearing. Objectively describing the long-term development trend of food and packaging machinery, estimating demand quantities and varieties, and reasonably laying out food processing and food machinery production enterprises is a strategic technical and economic issue worthy of serious study. Researching food machinery zoning and systematically and reasonably equipping is fundamental technical work for conducting targeted studies.
