Packaging machinery for the condiments industry

In recent years, the situation has changed significantly. The monopoly of glass bottles has been broken, and plastic bags, PET bottles, and concave buckets have successively entered the liquid seasoning market.

The capacity of PET bottles is similar to that of glass bottles, but they are lighter and have a better gloss. They also come with reusable caps. PE buckets generally have a larger capacity, making them suitable for faster consumption scenarios, and they also have excellent resealability. Plastic bags provide better economic benefits.

Although glass bottle packaging still holds a dominant position, it's worth noting that the single crown cap closure form on glass bottles has changed. One could say that the inability to reseal crown caps is the fatal weakness of glass bottle packaging. Nowadays, many glass bottles have improved in terms of their caps, switching to plastic caps for convenience. Some manufacturers even attach a plastic cap to the neck of the crown-capped glass bottle. After the crown cap is opened, this plastic cap can be used as a replacement and reused.

For small-capacity liquid seasonings such as mustard oil, chili oil, and some high-end raw soy sauce, glass bottle packaging is still the main choice, but all of them now use plastic caps. An ideal alternative packaging for this market has yet to emerge.
