However, the fact is that this chemical is toxic and harmful to human health, causing symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue, nausea, and palpitations when consuming pork from such pigs. Local officials had also warned the farmers about these consequences, yet the farmers could still easily obtain these additives. This is because they believed they must ensure the supply to urban sellers, as lean meat type pigs are favored by consumers there.
