Troubleshooting for Pump Tripping Fault
1: Fault Phenomenon
Since its commissioning, the 125 MW unit of the power plant occasionally experiences a problem where the pump trips immediately after closing the circuit breaker, without any signal relay dropping out. After eliminating the possibility of a switch mechanism fault, the cables, secondary circuit wiring, and all relays along with their settings were checked using conventional methods and found to be normal. Subsequent startups often succeed. It was later suspected that this might be caused by a soft fault in the DCS system; however, when the operation was performed from the control panel instead, the same phenomenon still occurred.
