There are various materials for signboards, such as acrylic, PVC, two-tone boards, and imitation rosewood and marble signboards produced by the Shencai Signboard Company. Although the materials are different, there is no difference in the settings of the advertising engraving machine. The quality of the product often shows in the processing technology after carving. Based on the focus of our peers, we have launched this series of introduction reports, taking the imitation rosewood and marble advertising signboards produced by Chengdu Shencai Signboard Factory as an example, for reference by professionals in advertising design, advertising production, arts and crafts, hotel supplies, and decoration industries.

Series Introduction Part Three: Coloring Process

The imitation rosewood and marble advertising signboards produced by Shencai Signboard use high-density fiberboard as the base material. Through cutting and forming, they adopt the latest surface treatment technology from Japan to produce new-type advertising signboards with natural rosewood and marble textures, which have a strong visual impact effect. These products are easy to carve, easy to color and paint, with excellent adhesion. The product has already undergone surface process treatment, so there is no need for further surface treatment after coloring and painting the carved parts. Therefore, the operation is simple, the processing cost is low, and it has the advantages of not deforming, no odor, and good moisture-proof performance. However, since the material is fiberboard, it is not as easy to color and paint as acrylic material, which often makes beginners feel difficult.

Tip One: Try to choose a 3D carving (some people call it 2.5D carving) plan for carving settings, and use a 90-degree conical tool for carving. This will visually weaken the roughness of the fiberboard carving surface.

Tip Two: When setting up for carving, avoid layered carving and set to the optimal depth in one go, which can be achieved by changing tools. This is because layered carving can leave overlapping marks, affecting the smoothness of the painted carved parts.
