For patients with severe chronic bronchitis and emphysema, accompanied by definite abnormal pulmonary function and oxygen partial pressure continuously lower than 60 mmHg, more than 15 hours of oxygen therapy should be provided per day; for some patients who have no or only mild hypoxemia, short-term oxygen supply during activities, tension or fatigue can alleviate the discomfort of "shortness of breath".
