The company's computer has two hard drives installed: one is a 160GB SATA drive, and the other is a 400GB IDE drive. Previously, both were IDE drives, but in order to improve speed, I swapped them out with a colleague for SATA drives. After switching to the SATA drive, the computer started having problems constantly. For me, who hadn't reinstalled the system for seven or eight years, now I almost have to reinstall it every week. At first, I suspected there was an issue with the newly purchased SATA hardware, then I doubted the new SATA data cable, and even questioned the power adapter cable for the SATA driveāall of these possibilities existed. But after several weeks of repeatedly reinstalling the system, I finally narrowed down the problem to the power supply. After replacing the power supply, the system became slightly more stable, but the second IDE interface hard drive turned into a "brick." When I checked in "Disk Management," it showed up as a new hard drive, and nearly 400GB of data inside could no longer be accessed.
