However, according to a report by CBS Channel 9 News, the problems were actually downloaded for free from a homeschooling website.

It is illegal for teenagers to smoke, yet one of the problems stated: "John, Jack, and Jim lit their pipes after dinner and began blowing smoke rings. In total, they blew 6437 smoke rings. If John blew 52 and Jack blew 3896, how many did Jim blow?"

A problem given to third-grade students read: "One night, I was sleeping when a hungry vampire drank 3652 liters of my blood and drank 1865 liters from my brother. How many liters of blood did the vampire drink that night?" Another problem said: "John's father gave him 1359 marbles. After swallowing 585, he died. Nine of his friends came to the funeral, and John's father divided the remaining marbles equally among them. How many marbles did each person receive?"

The report did not mention the teacher's name or why he assigned such problems. Beverly Wheeler, the head of the organization overseeing this charter school, said: "I am absolutely concerned... it does not align with what we do... I found that they (the problems) contain violence and racial undertones."

According to Xinhua News Agency, an elementary school teacher in the U.S. was fired for assigning math problems to third-grade students that contained "violent and illegal scenarios."

The report mentioned that the language used in the website's promotional slogan was "harsh and racially charged," and the content of the math problems constituted a "poisonous" influence on children.
