My time management

As an employee of Beijing Baili Expansion Company, over the years, I have felt a significant improvement in my ability to manage time, both in work and in life. I am an employee of Beijing Baili Expansion Company, and my workload is quite heavy during normal times. During busy periods, it even disrupts my regular schedule. From March to October each year, having no fixed working hours is commonplace. But I want to loudly say that I am grateful for such a working environment because it has trained my management skills, allowing me to balance various aspects of life—work, study, living, exercise, leisure—without neglecting any of them, and I am getting better at each. I now really enjoy this state of life and work; I feel full and grounded. The key to achieving this success lies in managing my own time effectively.

Below, I will share my time allocation system. First, I prioritize work. My job requires me to work from Monday to Friday like everyone else, with regular office hours. Occasionally, if important tasks are not completed during the day, I need to stay late. During the peak season of six months, weekends are also occupied as I need to lead groups outside.

Due to the long working hours, my rest time, study time, exercise time, and socializing time are all squeezed in whenever possible. Although these seem to be very limited, I find it to be a good method. This kind of time allocation strengthens my execution ability. Once the work is done, I quickly arrange these activities, otherwise, there would be no opportunity to do them, thus overcoming procrastination habits. Before I started working at Beijing Baili Expansion Company, I was in the wedding videography business, which left me with plenty of free time. However, I always procrastinated on doing things. For example, I planned to go running today, but then thought, "It's tiring, let's start tomorrow." Similar situations occurred frequently, leading to a lazy execution habit. As a result, I spent most of my abundant free time watching TV dramas, wasting precious time without accomplishing anything meaningful.

I realized that people’s habits when doing things are interconnected, and this habit inspired my time management skills. While I am busy with work, I have developed a learning habit and a habit of optimally allocating time. These two habits are the secrets to why I can maintain order in such a busy work environment.

My time schedule generally works like this: First, I try to finish my work on time to avoid overtime. If I complete the day's work ahead of schedule, I immediately look for materials to study professional knowledge that I lack. Learning never ends, and it helps to boost my work abilities.

Second, when the company is busy and we don’t have fixed working hours, I have developed a habit of exercising. When there is no group activity in the morning, I run for half an hour after breakfast before going to work. If there is a group activity in the morning, I switch to running in the evening. If neither morning nor evening has time, I take a short break. Whenever I have time, I keep exercising to maintain a healthy body for better work and life.

Third, during lunch and dinner, I browse news or specialized TV programs to enhance my understanding and awareness of social development. During breaks, I open my computer and check the facts I am most concerned about. For some information, I quickly browse through the headlines, while for others, I skim through the main content, allowing me to access more information efficiently.

Fourth, gathering times can only be arranged when I have rest time. Visiting my parents can be done after work in the evenings, fulfilling my filial duty. Doing housework simply means finding appropriate times for it.

In summary, I maintain an optimistic attitude towards everything, believing that I have the ability to do every task well or achieve the best state in each. Therefore, I happily enjoy everything I do. I do not waste time regretting or lamenting over negative things, nor do I spend time on meaningless matters. It is far better to use the time spent complaining about unhappy events to learn new knowledge or tackle more important issues, avoiding the negative effects brought by bad emotions.

Actually, according to one's own schedule, learning to use the overall planning method continuously helps find more suitable time arrangements, enabling better handling of more tasks. In this way, happiness will always accompany us.
