Therefore, many people have decided to get married this year. As a result, the wedding market has seen a sharp increase in business, and prices have also risen overall —— The price of tens of thousands of yuan has become common for wedding companies.
Large banquet halls are hard to come by. "The wedding banquets in May, June, and October have basically been fully booked. The hotel we chose only has a smaller banquet hall available," Mr. Wang, who is planning to get married in June this year, was surprised to find out. "This year is a 'two-spring' year, and there are many people getting married. I was worried about not being able to book a wedding banquet, so I specially avoided the May Day and National Day holidays, choosing instead a weekend in June. But unexpectedly, it's still difficult to book," Mr. Wang said.
After interviewing several star-rated hotels in the city, the reporter found that booking a wedding banquet during the "May Day" or "National Day" holidays is basically impossible now, especially for banquets of more than 14 tables, which are already hard to come by.
Similarly, wedding companies and photography studios are also booming. Mr. Tang told the reporter that there are significantly more newlyweds this year compared to last year. Many couples had already started making reservations at wedding companies before the Spring Festival. Among them, the most bookings were made for May, June, September, and October, with some reservations already scheduled until December.
With the surge of couples getting married in the Dragon Year, the prices of wedding services have increased significantly.
Both wedding banquets and wedding services have seen price hikes. The reporter found that the prices of wedding banquets in several star-rated hotels in the city have been continuously increasing. A price of over 2000 yuan per table is now quite common, with an additional service fee charged.
"The usual rate in previous years was around 1000 yuan per table," a staff member from a four-star hotel told the reporter. Now, the standard is generally around 2000 yuan, "with a price increase of about 10%," the staff member added.
In the wedding service market, a one-stop service charge from Suzhou wedding companies has been divided into several tiers, with a price of tens of thousands of yuan becoming the norm. "From picking up the bride to the end of the wedding banquet, we will arrange everything throughout the process, including design, planning, and hotel arrangements," Mr. Tang told the reporter. Due to the rise in hotel and car rental prices, wedding companies have also raised their prices accordingly. Tens of thousands of yuan is now the lowest price, with most cases costing over 200,000 yuan.
The reporter learned that the number of wedding companies has increased significantly in recent years. In addition to larger companies like Hongniang Xipu and Qidu, there are also many smaller-scale wedding companies.
Despite the intense competition, many wedding companies have developed high-end wedding planning schemes. "Good planning, high-end hotels, romantic atmosphere, and other factors combined basically constitute high-end planning, with costs generally exceeding 300,000 yuan," Mr. Tang told the reporter. This is also the main promoted service for many wedding companies this year.
