A white cat in Japan's Yamaguchi Prefecture prefers to drink water upright, amazing many people. According to a report by Kyodo News on August 4, a white cat in Japan likes to stand up and drink river water, attracting the attention of local residents. The cat, named "Mokkun," is kept by 67-year-old dance teacher Takashige Ishimura from Hanno City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. It has become famous locally for its impressive posture while standing to drink water. Mokkun can stand on its hind legs, place its front paws on the watering pot, and quietly drink water from the nozzle.

The nearly 8-year-old white male cat Mokkun is a hybrid breed. During the scorching heat, it sometimes drinks water continuously for almost a minute. Some people even stop to take pictures of it because of its amusing posture while drinking water upright.

Ever since about 3 years ago, Mokkun would come over whenever Ishimura waters the plants. If the spout of the watering pot is pointed at it, it will stand up and drink water.

The poured water splashes all over Mokkun's face, making it wet. Ishimura smiles and says, "Although it dislikes rainy days, it enjoys gulping down water from the watering pot."
